Erin2 says seeing a specialist psychiatrist in perinatal mental health made a big difference.
Transcript
And she got me in touch with an actual psychiatrist who specialises in perinatal mental health. And so that’s when I really started to feel a lot better. Because this was a doctor who knew exactly what kind of medications I needed to be on. Not just a psychiatrist that saw me for five minutes at the ER right? And so she was able to you know, take away some of the medications that probably I didn’t need to be on. And like make sure I was on the right dosage for the ones that should be helping. And that’s when I could start to feel like a lot better after receiving you know group therapy, talking to the psychiatrist, getting on the right medications you know? Just being able to talk about it finally and like someone being able to tell me like, ‘yeah the reason you’re not sleeping and the reason that you’re worrying about everything so much, isn’t because it’s all in your head. Like this is something that’s happening to you.’ And so that was really fantastic.
